My Canadianicon friends, your help will be greatly appreciated.

If you own a 1950 Sovieticon SKS45 WITH a cruciform spike bayonet -- I'm looking for photographic evidence.

I am trying to determine if the spike bayos found on 1950 dated guns are simply 1949 guns with replaced and re-serial-stamped covers, or if there were a limited number of 1950 SKS45s that came off of the assembly line with as-issued spike bayonets.

Every spike bayo-1950 SKS45 has varying indications of 1949 origins and/or evidence of post import modifications that make it impossible to determine if spike bayonets were original issue on any 1950 guns.

Since Soviet imports have been illegal here in the US for several decades, it seems like the best place to look would be up North where Canadians have had relatively unlimited access to soviet sks45 for many many years.

I am slso intereseted in evidence of non-refurbed 1949 guns with as-issued blade bayonets--

Please feel free to contact me via PM or post photos or photo links of any rifles that fit the description above.

I've tried to contact forum member "sandstorm" regarding his wealth of knowledge and in-depth post on the history and design evolution of the sks45 and for help on this side-project But I have had no response from him.

I thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Thank you,

Boris Badinov
