    .308 Garand Pictures (Lots)

Here is the Garandicon I picked up locally that is chambered in 7.62 Nato. Not sure what the deal is with this. Probably a commercial offering from spare parts. Not a collector piece but a nice rifle anyway. Any thoughts on parts ID would be welcomed.

I think you're right about the parts being later, for the most part. The receiver number is good and low. The hammer is earlier. Doesn't matter, it should shoot well and I wish I could find one like it around here!

Is the stock glass bedded? Are the handguards unitized/ glued into the band? How tight was the gas cylinder to disassemble?

No bedding, but good tight lock-up of trigger assembly. Hand guards were not glued. Gas cylinder lock was cranked on toght. The cylinder is not staked.

Would accurizing for a 30-06 Garandicon be the same for this rifle?

Arlington was an importer/renovator in the Reagan era when Garands were hard to find. They refurbished and rebarreled M1icon's. I've seen a few in 7.62 Nato before. Some worked very well and some not so well. I'd get it looked at by a Garand qualified gunsmith.
