    Vintage Weaver K2.5 Scope Info?

I just won an online auction for a vintage Weaver K2.5 scope. This one has a post reticle and has finger-adjustable knobs for W / E. I have tried looking online to see what age this may be from, and apparently not many were made like this. Any speculation from the forum? Thanks.

There were many variations or series of the weaver scopes over the years so you'll need to post pics of it in order to get any sensible answers and unless someone has detailed manufacturing info a best guess might be as good as it gets.

It's an early one. If the reticle moves within the image as the knobs are turned it was made sometime between 1947 and 1956. All post '56 Weavers featured a constantly centered reticle.

I got it in the mail today. Optics are clear. The tube says "Weaver K2.5 / Patented / El Paso Tex USAicon" in 3 lines. No serial number anywhere. To adjust W & E, for each I assume the screw is loosened, then the knob adjusted by hand to obtain zero, then the screw tightened back down, right?

I'm not 100% sure. Never had one with knobs exactly like that. Closest I have is a Weaver V8, similar but not exact. Is there a ''0'' mark in the adjustment scale atop the knobs? If so I'd think the only time you'd need to loosen the screws is to re-set the knobs to ''0'' after zeroing the rifle, but I could be wrong.

I have the twin to your scope. A fellow who repairs these has told me that mine is a early 50's vintage. You don't need to loosen the screws to adjust W&E on mine. reticle is not constantly centered, so if you have to adjust it a long way off the centered position, the cross hairs may not be centered in the tube.
