    "Kit of Tools" Krag crate

Was quite happy to have scored this at auction today. I'm a sucker for period crates of any kind, and this is the first one of these I have ever seen in the wild. Does anyone have any info on it besides what is obvious from the label? Looks like the lock should be fairly easy to reinstall and was quite happy that the key is present.

Box relates to the US Kragicon.

Nice find! too bad there wasn't any tools in it. I have only heard one person say they've ever seen, in person or in a photo, an original krag action wrench...said he saw an old gunsmithing book on a table at a gun show, opened up on a page with a factory pic assembling krags, but he can't remember the book.

I consigned that! I'll have to see if I can track down where I bought it from...

'srculpepper' - Thank you for posting pictures of your neat acquisition! I played with the Label Picture a bit so that it is easier to read about the original contents and functions.

I also posted your photo (enhanced), giving you credit, on the KCA Forum to see if anyone knows more about these 'field kits'. I hope you don't mind.

    I couldn't find anything about when/where I bought this.
I think maybe I posted about it over at KCA before the reboot or whatever it was that happened.

BR, do you recall seeing this before?

Ryan, I recall seeing some U.S. Ordnance tool-kit boxes on forums, over the years, but I can't find the photos now.
My memory is not always trustworthy on these things!

It is unfortunate that old posts have gotten lost and damaged on Gun Forums!

Some really good stuff and hard work has been lost.
