    sks 26 1967

Hi thought I would share my new sks experience. Just picked it up a couple day ago at a gun pond shop. It looked pretty good and I had been wanting a semi auto for a good while. Needless to say the darling girl came home with me. I will post some pictures of it for all to see.
On the left side of the receiver it has a /26\ ### chinese marks 111364xx P
right below on the stock it has a /2\ triangle.
It was full of cosmolineicon every where except on the outside of the gun. after a long cleaning I was very happy with the results the barrel was pristine.
Took it out today shoots like a dream. well I will try and post the pic's now.

Wow that has a great looking stock. I had a 26 once, but the stock looked like someone stored it in a sewer. It was a little off where fired from the sights, but it was accurate with a scope.

This is what I've got. It came with a Russianicon SKS and when I put the original cover back on that rifle, I just kept the scope in this cover and put in on my Chinese. I don't know anything about it, but it keeps zero.

Thank you for your response. Nice looking outfit but I don't want to change the receiver cover. I would prefer to use the side mount i have. Let me know if you find out anything. have a great day.

Is that a rail on the left side?? Can't tell, how's it mounted?, if so UTG sells mounts though the usual shooting sports suppliers.

Yes it is a rail it is riveted on the receiver Navy Arms did that a lot, they also put them on the Paratrooper. It measures 12mm x 82mm or less than 1/2 x3 1/4 inches thanks for the help.

Since this is your first SKS, & it was full of cosmolineicon........did you take the bolt apart & clean all the parts? Not a difficult job (just drive out the cross pin), but essential to prevent malfunction caused by failure of the firing pin to retract.
