    Star on Jungle Carbine receiver

    Hello again

I just bought another JC. I believe that it has come from Africa. As I mentioned in another post, the wood is light in colour. Its a FAZ from April 1946 and has the metal nose cap. The forestock is cracked and I'm going to have to replace it.

It has a prominent star stamped onto the front/top of the receiver just behind the knox form. No pics yet. The star is larger and more prominent than those normally stamped on for the presence of rust or corroded barrel.

Any ideas? Could it be some kind of issuance mark?

    Steve

If it's a star as in Star of David, then it's a good chance that it came from, guess where! There are pictures of Israeli farmers ploughing their land with No4's and 5's tucked snugly on their tractors.

    Thanks Peter.

It's not a Star of David. That would be quite interesting. Its more Aztec-like in design. It reminds me of something but I can't quite put my finger on it.
