    I believe that's a 1874 Turkishicon bayonet for an NCO's Peabody-Martini .45 cal rifle.

Originally these were long yataghan-bladed affairs... but eventually most were shortened and the blades straightened. Leather grip with 5 rivits... made in the USAicon for the Turks. They were issued to NCO's for the .45 cal Peabody-Martini rifles the Turks obtained in 1873 from the maker, Providence Tool Company. Providence subcontracted many bayonets to Ames Sword Company of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Other ranks were also issued the rifles but with the 1874 socket bayonet.

    1874 (short) - overall length 603mm
    - blade length 406mm
    - muzzle ring 17.9mm

If I'm wrong, ignore the history lesson I'm in no way a bayonet expert... just have access to some excellent resources.

Google "Turkish 1874 bayonet" and look in the images section and you can find pics of the original long as well as the shortened and straightened bayonet. The Old Smithy has pic too...
