Rarish No. 9 Mk I bayonet

During the holidays I got a chance again to look through Graham Priests excellent book, "The Spirit of the Pike", which is a must have to any Enfield bayonet collector.

In his book he has illustrated an unknown No. 9 bayonet with only a partial manufacturers mark, for those with the book it is on page 269.

I am fortunate to also have an example of this bayonet but with better markings showing that it is a No. 9 bayonet made at M.I.L. or Metal Industries, Lahore in modern day Pakistan.

Pictured along with it is a No. 1 Mk II and No. 1 Mk II* P1907 bayonets made by M.I.L. during WWII. If anyone has his Mr. Priest's email please drop him a note letting him know one mystery has been solved.

It's a great book Lance. I had the good fortune to meet Graham Priest at a MD Arms Collectors Baltimore show when he was first selling the books. There's so much more than just bayonets in the book too. It's worth every penny.

Neat find. It's nice to be able to contribute to the knowledge base! Thanks, Lance. I'll have to pick that book up (next chance in Lousiville in Feb).
