    Ds from the CMP

I have beem told that most Ds were built in the early 50s from existing rifles if that is true do you think that there will be a sprinkling Winchesters in the current batch of Cs fore sale

I would think there would be a fair chance that would happen.

Any Winchester C is a fake

A Winchester D is quite possible
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose

I assumed he meant to say D's in the last sentence, since it's D's that the CMPicon has listed. At least I don't remember seeing any C's on the site.

There is a huge lot of M1C's on the way

see back issues of GCAicon Journal - there was a comprehensive acounting of types and variations sorted at CMP South by the GCA

was last year - can not remember which issue

I was at the CMPicon South Store Last week and saw the M1D's first hand. Overall they were very impressive. Stocks and finish nice, mix of the DAS and the correct SA Boxed and RA Cartouche. A few had the Green park, most were the black Park. ME 1.5, TE 2.0+ on most, saw a few very nice 6 digits, all were Springfield mix-masters.

That's good to hear, I've heard some very bad reports elswhere but I figured they were second hand nonsense.
