    AJ Parker rear sight question

Ok, this may not be specifically related to Lee Enfields, but I am considering selling the AJ Parker TZ 4/47 rear sight that came with the Enforcer I just bought. Any idea of how much these are selling for? This one is in very good condition and is mechanically sound. A photo is accessible via the "Enforcer questions" thread.

PH5C's are regulary fetching well over £150 (on ebay) and AJP 4/47 are rated more highly and tend to fetch a good 10%/20% more than PH5C's.

You do occasionally see 5Cs and 4/47 cheaper at some dealers, but as with all things prices are going up, and Ebay, (love it or hate it) seems to be setting the world wide pricing levels on a lot of parts.

With mounting screws and a 6 hole eyepiece I'd say £160 was a fair price to both seller & buyer
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Thanks for that, Alan. The one I have would not be sold with mounting screws (they are not the right type, although they do keep the sight on very well - ok, I'd throw them in for free lol), and it has the rimbell eye piece, not a 6 hole eye piece, so that would drop the value somewhat.

The PH5C's are almost always available on evil bay. The AJP's are seldom listed on evil bay, when they are the get a lot of attention.

Alan's pricing is right on. The AJP's are more common in the UKicon, seldom seen here in the states.

...but you might get a lot less - I've seen ajp 4/47's go for a fair bit less than £100. It's all about the marking up really - consider this: most people probably have parker hale searches - in which case yours wouldn't come up so decreasing your number of potential buyers (ie get parker hale in the item headline). I doubt you'd get a buyer on a 'buy it now' only £160...but it could get more than that in an auction. It's just the way the human mind is.

And don't forget - as soon as you sell it you'll discover some reason why you desperately need it...

Very true, PrinzEugen - Ebay can be a total crapshoot (in more ways than one...). You just have to look at the current bidding on Ebay for a PH5E/4 - $410 last time I checked - yikes! So long as I can sell it for enough to pay for returning the front sight on my Enforcer back to the original design, then I would be happy.

There are six or eight 5C's on evil bay right now, that may allow one or two to go at a reasonable price.
