    Blackpowder Pistol...real or reproduction?

Hey guys. A friend of mine picked up this little pistol and sent me some pictures of it...to me, it LOOKS like a reproduction, but perhaps could be an "overcleaned" authentic gun...all I have are the pics to go by. Was hoping some of you guys could chime in with an opinion.

I'm guessing someone had a barrel stub from Belgiumicon and what looks like a home built or trade lock, and created a little pistol. Grip seems curled in too tight for a good firing grasp. 1950s or '60s? Brass furniture has a little age on it. The brass hammer is sort of wierd for a working firearm.

The barrel looks like the breech end of a Belgian break open rook rifle that has been sawn off an re-used to make this gun. You can still see the inspection stamps and silver solder residue where the breech hook was attached up on the right side by the muzzle.

It's *possible* this was cobbled together in the 1800's, but more likely it was put together in the 50's or 60's as stated as a creative way to make use of some bits from the scrap in.
