    help with stamp on M1

I've got an M1icon with a dark reddish brown stock on it stamped AAM and cross cannons and inside the sling groove is stamped "O-RMC". Can anyone tell me what this means? I believe I have an underwood reciever, a saginaw barrel, and whatever stock this is. I paid 800 for it but I may have paid too much. This gun is sort of a way to reconnect with my grandfather. Thanks for any help guys!
    John

Hi John, look close it says Q-RMC. That is a stock made by Rock-Ola for Quality Hardware. Can you post some pics of the stock and rifle?

    Welcome to the forum.....Frank

It's actually Q-RMC, stock was made by Rockola for Quality Harware Machine Co. The AAM is a rebuild stamp, shows it was rebuilt at Augusta Arsenal. Georgia. $800 sounds about right, is the stock high or low wood?

Sure, Id love to post some pics. I'm getting excited now that I see the rock ola stocks are the ones to have. I am just concerned about the fact that it has pieces from several different guns on it. I want to know everything I can know about this gun so I will be sure and post some pics here shortly. Thanks for the replys already too guys!

Most [95%] Carbines are mixmasters. That's what made them great, the manufacureing of all parts are 100% interchangeable. Take it out and enjoy, when it warms up. In the 20's and had 2.5" snow last night.GK

Darn global warming. Way up north, in the land of the poor polar bears who are starving because the ice is melting, they're having to lay a hose across a frozen lake to get oil to the village that had 18' of snow last week. So, does anybody think the ice is still melting?

Huh? Why? This was about a stamp in the sling well and it turned to global warming which by the way is a hot political topic these days???
