I can. It has been sporterized. Complete stock replacement. Normal leaf backsight. No trace of a scope mounting. I fail to see the evidence that this ever was a sniper rifle. For me (not an Enfield expert, I just shoot them) this is a bog-standard sporterized Enfield. The starting price is a joke - it should have a couple of 00s knocked off. I may be wrong, and await enlightenment.

These people are clearly on a different orbitory planet to the rest of us. Have you ever read such a load of sheer horse manure? But someone on that different orbitory planet will buy it, have no doubt!

I sent the seller an e-mail asking him if the $20,000 starting bid was a typo or the actual starting bid. The response I rec'd was that the rifle is on consignment and the owner believes this to be the true value due to the history of the rifle. I hope it sells, it will make my collection worth millions!!

I believe it's a Parker Hale conversion. I don't know about Churchill... They did three grades of them and this is the classyest one. While a nice rifle, it's worth about what Patrick stated...that would be a pretty good deal. This owner was obviously snagged by a fisherman.
    Regards, Jim
