WOW! Is this the rifle you posted about restoring? It is quite a looker. I guess I`m not the only one who went with a darker wood for the stock. And it`s even the same arsenal mine`s from. Gook luck with your beauty.

Here`s what mine used to look like before I did the resto on it. I should be able to post some new pics when I get a new camera and try to clear some space out of my attachments

Might just go ahead and find a Canadianicon buttsock as well. The one shown in the photos has been sanded enough to make the grip area look a bit odd. Alternatively, you might try to reshape it, but it would probably move the grip area too far back.

Here's the grip area on a Fazackerly, but the contours should be the same:

The only side view I can find is of a Long Branch N0.4 Mk.I* (T). Just ignore the cheek piece..:

When you replace the butt, then make sure that it fits into the tapered socket properly and that there is a steel washer in the bottom of the stock bolt hole AND, most importantly, that the double-coil spring washer is present too.

Just make sure that the end of the stock bolt DOESN'T protrude through the front face of the butt socket

  10. Thank You to Peter Laidler For This Useful Post:

A quart will last ages! And do many rifles. Generally, I prefer raw linseed oilicon (as did the Britishicon military). Less sheen and buildup. Penetrates better as well.

ETA: As you are in GA, USAicon, "flax seed oil" might be easier to find. Same exact thing as RLO. Plus, it's good for you and is tasty on green beans!
