Bolt head size on 4T

what was the importance of bolt head size on 4T?
It seems they ranged from 0 to 3

The ideal bolt head size is, quite naturally, the SMALLEST size that the rifle CHS's on. And NEVER over CHS a rifle. For example, if it CHS's properly on a, size 1 AND 2, then leave the No2 bolt head on the rifle. O to 3 were the bolt head sizes so any one is suitable except at Base workshop, where a 3 was a reject. Mind you, this forum is absolutely littered with bolt head discussions if you REALLY need to know more
