Does my Remington 1903-a3 have a S/C bolt??

Unless I'm not seeing clearly, the bolt in my otherwise "Remington Correct" rifle has an X on the bolt, where the handle meets the bolt & the number 2 & perhaps a punch mark underneath that same area. My rifle is in the 418*** serial number series, has what appears to be the proper barrell & all R marked parts where I have read they belong, (including other parts associated with the bolt), & the stock has correct markings as well. I know, I know, a picture is worth a 1000 words, I'll work on that, but in the interim, any pictureless help offered will be greatly appreciated!!

    Similar Problem

I recently bought a Smith Corona M1903A3 S/N 3643xxx that has a Remington bolt with R markings prominent on it. It's in excellent condition and functions perfectly. See attached photos . I would be interested in a swap if yours is in equivalent condition. Please post photos.

Your Remington bolt should be black/blue. Looks reparked to me. But a straight swap works OK.

Sounds good. Let me know. Although I'd like my rifle to be more "correct" the Remington bolt in this rifle runs smooth as silk. Almost hate to mess with a good thing of you know what I mean. But let's keep talking and see what happens.

Any other opinions about my bolt?? Again, sorry for not displaying photos, but I've been out of town....My bolt has what appears to be an X where the stem meets the main body of the bolt & a 2 with a punch-mark underneath the stem....Did they use S/C bolts, (If this is an S/C bolt), in Remington rifles or is this a replacement bolt??

I'd say it's an SC bolt.
