Remington bolt help
This is my first post to this forum. I just picked up my first 03A3 from a local dealer and I will be asking some questions about it in the coming days.
Most of the parts have the "R" stamped into them but I know the bolt is wrong. It is a Springfield bolt and I would like to replace it with the correct Remington bolt. The s/n is in the 3470xxx range. What markings should I be looking for? If possible, I would like to find one that is blued and not parkerized since the current bolt is blue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Search for a nicely blued bolt having a small "R" stamped underneath the handle and a "3", "5", or "8" stamped atop the handle. (The original finish was blue).
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

John,
I appreciate the info! Are there any places you would suggest I look. GunBroker, Auction Arms, parts dealers, etc. ?

Hi Greg,
Welcome to the site!
Here's a photo of one of mine -

There are quite a few original bolts still around, so you shouldn't have too much problem if you check the gun sites, parts sites, and even eBay. Some members here may be able to help you too.
You might also put a wanted post in the "want to buy" (WTB) forum.

Also, to possibly save yourself a lot of work, and to answer some questions you may not even know to ask, you should check this site -

Greg,
I just thought of a possible source you might check for an original 1903A3 bolt. Bill Ricca is a trusted member of this site and he may have what you need on hand.
You'll need to call or email him to check for availability. Contact info is on his site.
Here's a link to his 1903 parts page - Bill Ricca's 03/03A3 Parts and Accessories
