    Question Remington bolt marking

I have a Remington bolt with an 8 marked on the top of the bolt handle. Would this be correct for a Remington 1903 in the ser.# range of 3251xxx?.

Doesn't sound like it. Are there any markings on the bottom of the bolt handle?

Stamped on the bottom is an R, on the top an 8. The bolt is parked. I don't see any other markings.

No. Your Remington bolt with an "8" atop the handle is for a later rifle.
