Does anyone have a spare No4 bolt head?

I'm looking for a No4 bolt head that measures .636" to .638" complete or not. The one on the bolt now is a #0 that mics in at .631" and I've called/e-mailed several places looking for a bolt head in that range with no answers. Thanks in advance for any help.

I suggest that before you start looking for something that whiule it exists, was NEVER ever approved by the UKicon or Canadianicon military and does not ever feature in the stores catalogue or EMER, that you read and digest some of the earlier material about bolt heads. But generally speaking, a rifle that needs a bolt head OVER No3 has a worn-out body.

Click the link and read - you do not need a size 4 bolt head - you need a longer bolt head which could be a size 2 or a size 3.

Why do you need one ? is your headspace that bad ?
There is an awful lot of Hoo - Ha talked about headspace, particularly on the western side of the Atlantic. In the UKicon it never seems to be much of a problem.

No 4 No5 Bolt Heads (Update)
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I worry about bolt head overturn much more than headspace. Especially irrelevant if you reload.

This bolt/bolt head combo is not the same serial number as the rifle itself. The bolt lugs, while not perfect, both show signs that they make contact. When I looked I noticed that the bolt head does over turn to about 15 degrees. I was wishing to get a new bolt head to see if that would fix the issue. Or is the over turn issue a bolt body issue? Thanks for any help that you guys can offer.

Sorry, a bolt head for a N04 Mk1* in the stated measurements. I reread my original post and can see where I should have worded it different. My intent is to try and make this rifle as accurate as I can while keeping it original. I have read and reread most of what Peter has posted and am learning a lot as I go.

Are you thinking that tightening the headspace by .005"-.007" will have a significant effect on accuracy? That's pretty unlikely to happen, especially if you are a handloader who can control "headspace" with sizing technique. (If you haven't yet, please take a look at Milsurps Knowledge Library - Headspace 101 for .303's )

The 2002 Canadian armorer's manual I just checked calls for a maximum bolt head overturn of 20 degrees. Why reject yours at 15?
