1853 Enfield Rifle spares

Hello, I have a Parker Hale 3 band Enfield and I'm trying to obtain a tiny screw which fixes the rear sight sliding blade to the sight ladder.
Tried Henry Kranks in UK but no joy there.
Anybody help?

You are looking in the wrong direction. It is a screw, not a gun part!

Regardless of which weird Enfield thread may have been used on original rifles, it is a 10BA countersunk screw. At least you are living in the UK, which makes it easier to find BA screws. But you need a MODEL ENGINEERING supplier, not a gun parts supplier!

You will
a) have to buy a small packet* - but at least you are prepared for future restoration of another 24 tatty Enfields!
b) file the screw to length.
c) make sure everything is degreased when you reassemble the backsight, then put a dab of Pattex/Thixofix/whatever on the screw head, to stop it rotating. Note: screw head, not screw thread - you might want to dismantle it one day. And Pattex-type impact adhesives go rubbery, so the setup is very resistant to being shaken loose, but you can still undo the screw - if necessary - by slowly unscrewing it until the rubbery glue stretches and breaks.

*which will still be cheaper than ordering a single screw from a gun parts supplier.
