    Sks broken bolt help

Never bought an AK or SKS perhaps my instincts were correct. Here are some photos of a Chinese SKS bolt which has fractured at the primer hole. Has anyone seen this before?
I researched a bit with few results. Common sence dictates this is a pecursor to a catistrophic failure requireing bolt replacement but curious as to the cause. Headspace issue? Chinese quality control (or lack there of)? Incluced are photos of the cracked bolt and rear mateing surfaces, bolt & reciever both of which look normal. The fireing pin floats normally and there is no evidince of a ruptured cace etc.. Input welcomed.

Not very common, but there are a handful or two which have been reported over the years. No remedy except a new bolt and a headspace check.

That is where I am headed. New bolt (who knowes if Chinese Russianicon Yugoicon etc.. )is avaliable fpr $35 lets hope it headspaces correctly as it seems as though correcting headspace is a chore left to an SKS expert from the reading I have done. Still curious as to the cause.
This is a good example of why you should always inspect a milsurp before shooting it.

Pretty cute little gun. It is one of the Navy Arms Cowboy Companion "Paratrooper Carbines" sans bayonet imported during the late unplesantness.I even has the side saddle scope mount. Fingers crossed on the headspace.
I remember the adds for these & the FR7 & FR8s seems as though cheap Pickup Truck guns were all the rage in the 90s.

Only if you can find the mount & scope. Any other mount that will fit the base?

I agree. I'd say get a replacement part and check headspace...carry on...
