He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.
Neat . Pictures of that pattern are rare and that's one I hav'nt seen before .
Thank you , Chris
Great pictures as always but I'm curious about the weapon held by the soldier in the left foreground. No front sight but hard to see if there is a scope on the weapon. It's either a M1903a4 or a shotgun imo but would like to hear other opinions
Lighted up a bit but still can't tell. Model 11 perhaps?
Carbine with a grenade launcher???
Bill Hollinger
"We're surrounded, that simplifies our problem!"
I think it's a carbine too.
Regards, Jim
That cammo pattern looked an awful lot like the Germanversion. I think it resulted in more than a few incidents of "Friendly Fire."
The rifle is a 1903 with a grenade launcher

There is a pic floating around of a Germansniper being captured by a Brit sniper team and in the one marching him out you can hardly make out his left leg against the brick work such is the blend between the two. I have tried to copy the pic from the web to post but it wont copy have you seen this pic Mark.
