    USN Mark 1 Leather Sheath

I found a leather sheath stamped with "USN", it is for the Mark 1. It is the type that is sewn and stapled only on one side, as the leather was folded over. I have only seen the type with the stitching all the way around, so I am curious as to what the time frame might be on this fold over type.
    Thanks

    Bud:

The foldover, one piece leather sheaths for the Mark 1 were the first type used in WW2. They were replaced by the leather two piece variety, which was later supplanted by the grey plastic Mark 1 sheaths made by Beckwith.
