    Question M91/28 Italian Carcano

    Hello Gentlemen,

I am looking to acquire this Carcano from an individual. I wanted to get an idea of how much it is worth. What I know is that it is a 1928 production 91/28 and was manufactured in Terni. It is all matching and appears to be in immaculate shape. The one issue that worries me is that the stock appears to be laminated. Was it initially lacquered in arsenal or was it done by an owner? Whatever the case, how much does the lamination affect the value? He is wanting $200 cash for it.

I can't make out the date on the buttstock stamp. If it's postwar, then the lacquering may have been part of an arsenal refurbishment.

I suspect the finish isn't original, I have never seen one with that type of finish, but I could also be wrong. I have no clue in terms of value.
