Can any one tell what theses marks are. I think the letters are P's.

Those are just the inspector's marks and the Long Branch ownership marks.

Just so I am 100% non of them are a proofing mark.

I think they are inspected and marked before finish and then fired after assembly, which comes after blue or park and paint as applicable. Last thing is firing to pattern the rifles before packing and shipping. You see those marks are full of finish.

LB: made at Small Arms Limited, Long Branch, Ontario. C/l\: Canadian property mark. Cross mark: Proof mark? Inspection mark?

The crossed flagstaffs was a proof mark or rather part of one; earlier on it was "DCP" with the crossed staffs, which I always understood to be "Dominion of Canada Proof".

Seen on the barrel, body and bolt head as being the (directly) pressure bearing parts?

If the crossed swords are a canadian proof mark then this makes it a bit more intriguing as the serial number is for a savage which i think is original and not redone like the reciever. I am led to believe that theses had been paired in the italian navy.
