    Rock Island rear Sight Indentification

My understanding is the Rock Island rear sights were stamped with the "Flaming Bomb" stamped on the Rear sight moveable base and the back side of the sight ladder. Were there any other known characteristics marking Rock Island rear sights? I am sorting through a pile of rear sights and am wondering if there are other identifying characteristics of RIA sights.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe the base of the "7" on the rear sight leaf was straight, while those from SA were curved.

Rick; The seven is the best way to ck.RIA sights also were made without the 2700yd notch late in 1918,not all of them were flaming bomb marked. And, thanks for the help with the NMS stock,It's on the way.I will post pictures when I get it.Lee W.

Only the very last Rock Island rear sights were stamped with a flaming bomb.

    Rick is correct.
