Those are two worn-out GI’s
Any ideas on what those shiny things which appear to be blousing the pants for the soldier on the left?
And the en-bloc clips at the ready for the buddy on the right……I haven’t seen that before, what are they attached to?

Those are the top of his M1943 double buckle combat boots.

And the en-bloc clips at the ready for the buddy on the right

Common practice to have a clip or two where they can be had quickly, those are on the strap for that bag at his hip. Many slipped one on their rifle sling.

A tactic on prominent display in the film "The Big Red One" with Lee Marvin and that Hamil guy. Marvin was a true American, that Hamil guy not so much.

Thanks I see it now….two straps going over his left shoulder. At first it looked like just one strap to me and that the back of the en-bloc was magically attached to it. I see how the second strap threads through the rounds.

Expand the picture and you see it's the rifle sling, actually and that makes sense.

two bandoliers of 48 rounds each

Lots of guys did that too. They just aren't as durable but they don't last long in use. Even commonwealth troops are shown with a water bottle and a couple bandoleers, no webbing at all.
