Hey Chainsaw, Those Columbian Mausers have a beautiful crest. Clean off that paint with acetone or stripper and show us a few photos, closeup of the crest and a full length shot. How is the bore?
The bore looks to be pretty good, shiny and strong rifling
The crest looks good-- I think it would be well worth it to find an original type stock and hardware. Those are fun kind of projects. Good luck and thanks for the pictures.

Thanks saltflat,im having a heck of a time finding an original colombian stock,I ordered a belgian 1930? Stock from Numrich, hopefully it will match close enough.theres 4 feet of snow at our local range so I wont be able to shoot it for a while, thats annoying.I have 4 new to me rifles and a colt 1903 hammerless that I cant shoot until the snow melts down a bit.
Yea, I think that 1930 stock, even if not 100% correct would be close enough to make it a nice rifle. The neat thing is, if it is still a 30-06 the reloading possibilities are endless. You''ll be ready and loaded up when the snow melts.
The black paint is what FN put on the guns with a gray finish under the paint. Not Bubba.
