I picked up a Colombian Mauser in .30-06 a couple days ago that looks to be a typical mixmaster converted FN. Mismatched straight bolt and a nice shiny bore that does not even reach the first mark on my Stoneax Garandgauge. A round of PS Korean ball ammo shows better than a quarter inch. The grooved cup buttplate has been replaced and the mag plate has seen rust in the past. Rear of the receiver has the .30, ground crest with almost nothing of the left receiver markings left except for the F.Serial. The right side has the R. FAMAGE 1952 rebuild mark.
I am guessing this marking on the sight base denotes 7mm Spitzer calibration on the sights.
Are these FN stamps on the front stock ring?
Any info on these stamps located on the right side and bottom of the stock respectively would be appreciated. I could not find anything online covering them. There looks to be some very nice wood under the finish, which I will be removing.
Finally, a pick of the rifle overall, showing 50-70% finish remaining.
Thanks for looking.Information
