.223 SS109 Green Tip Bullet Prices?

I have an oppertunity to buy loose, SS109 Green Tip bullets in bulk (1000-3000) ...but having trouble finding what is a fair wholesale and / or re-selling price in todays market.
I see asking prices all over the map on retail & auction sites so they aren't much help!

My thought is to get more than I need, and to repack the remainder into smaller bags of say, 100 or 250 for re-sale on my (once a year) table at an up coming gun show.
I haven't done much with AR's & .223 cal. yet so any imput regarding buy/sell prices would be welcomed.

    depends upon price

no one would probably pay more than 7-8 dollars per hundred tops. they are essentially a 2 MOA bullet. maybe 1.5 if you weight sorted them or something and used a match rifle.

I believe the strong interest in SS109 / Green tip ammo is for personal protection, not target shooting.

Looks like the current range is prob .12 to .15 cents per bullet in auctions. The usual big suppliers are out of bulk so hard to gage pricing. I didnt think you can get "wholsale" price for occasionally buying 1000 pc, but should get a "bulk" price.

Natchez has some Remington right now.

    Thank you, GS, that helps.
Any idea of what smaller quanties sell for?
I seldom see anyone selling loose green tips by the 100 anymore.

I see .75 - $1.00 ea. for loaded rounds in boxes at show and on line, ..so I had no idea of what loose bullets are worth if you don't want a 1000 at a time.

    personal protection?

if I wanted to make sure I pierced some burglar's kevlar helmet, I would use the SS109 green tip. if I wanted a .223 round to help me shut down someone's CNS, I would pick something else like ANY 50-65 grain jacketed hollow point or soft point. I would probably pick a Hornaday V-Max 55 or SX *(super explosive) given the choice of many excellent defense/tactical bullets (actually would NOT use reloads in my "home defense" round).

PS, I like my 870 Rem for home defense with #4 shot better than a rifle round..
