Got a shock today when I went to a local surplus store to buy a couple of 50 cal ammo cans. In late Febuary I bought some from the same store for $7.50 ea, today the price was $15 ea. Store employee said the military is crushing cans now rather than sell them, said the cost to the store is over $9.00 apiece now and that the price has gone up 3 or 4 times since I purchased those last ones. Their 30 cal cans which were $6 in Feb. now cost $7.50. She also said that the govt is destroying the old style cammies rather than sell them.
