Ejector and Spring

Is there a trick to getting the ejector into a new spring? Its a bear and I don't want to distort the spring with my fat fingers.

You can put the spring in and the ejector on top and proceed. The ejector will pop in when the whole thing is compressed. I doubt that it makes any difference in function either way. If you've decided to use some stronger Wolf springs, that may also be an issue. I got one of their kits and few if any springs were even close to the originals. I wound up using exactly one, the recoil slide spring. They appeared to be just a sack of close matched commercial springs and a reasonable solution to a no-existent problem. $14 wasted.

I replaced with all NOS USGI springs. I basically "screwed" in the ejector same direction as the spring was wound. All done!
