My grand dad got a letter form the Army about the Luger I have saying it was ok to take it home as a war prize.

The transfer of this rifle requires no paperwork or registration, not only because it is a C & R, but also because it was given to him by his grandmother. California's direct line of sanginuity law allows any long gun to be transfered between a parent, grandparent, or great grandparent to a child, grandchild, great grandchild etc, without any waiting period or paperwork, as long as the recipient can legally own a firearm.

Yet another reason I'm FROM California. If I were to move back (never happen) I would have to register all the guns I took out of the state when I left in '78, some of which I've had since the '50s. Nope, I'm FROM Cali. The less the gummint knows about me the better.
