Iraq marked Long Branch No4 Mk1
I have picked up a Long Branch No4 Mk1 with a stock disk with the Iraqi ownership mark and what converts from arabic to 1843 on the same stock disk. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris

I have a No1 Mk3 with the Iraqi symbol. It's a 1954 Ishapore. Not sure how the Iraqis got it or how it got here

Here are a couple of pics. Rifle has no British
proof marks, or Iraqi ownership marks. only Long Branch markings. Also, no import marks! Lots of wear on edges like most weapons that have been in the sand a while.

No. 4s do not normally have a stock disc. Could the stock be a No.1 adjusted to fit?

Full length pic might help. Don't the butt stocks have a different profile?

That is what threw me off, I have only seen disks on No1 Mk3 and older! There is Long Branch markings on the underside of the grip and the wood matches perfectly. It looks like the rear handguard has been replaced. Here are a couple more pics.

Two.
First, is the Iraqi calendar the same as ours?
Second, the butt is from another rifle - did No 4's made in Canada
have stock discs?
