New (first) No. 4: MP-marked Long Branch

First off, let me say thank you to the various folks here on Milsurps who responded to my posts, and especially to those who bore the brunt of my questions as I made my Enfield newbie way toward this purchase. Badger, No4Mk1(T), RNWMP and Brian Dickicon...I'd like to single you out for your assistance as I negotiated the learning curve.

Tempted as I was by several rifles, including the highly-regarded Greek Long Branches Brian is selling, I'm glad I found this one.

1944 Long Branch, with RCMP markings. S/N checks out on "the list" and bolt is matching.

This is a "two-fer" rifle for me as is gives me not only a war-dated Long Branch similar to that my grandfather no doubt carried at Juno, but my father was a long-serving member of the RCMP.

Bolt head is a "0" and bore (two-groove) looks very good. Receiver is parkerized.

Has a CCM nosepiece, which I think is kind of cool.

Long Branch markings galore and C-broad arrow marks on the trigger guard, forestock, buttstock, buttplate and bolthead. Still have some questions, largely about markings, though that I'd appreciate hearing about.

    - Mag is LB-marked, but follower is marked UOF or UCF, which stands for...?
    - On top of buttstock is an "N"
    - Then there are these markings on the forestock "C" and "S"

    Beautiful rifle!

Where can I find a copy of this list? I see one in the Enfield Knowledge Libraryicon, but it's not a complete list I think.

Thanks for the comments. A more thorough examination would appear to indicate limited use and I look forward to firing it (range report to follow afterward).

As for the list, Baal, there are others on the board who may be able to help as I don't have it.

I have the identical rifle that was my fathers before he passed. He was RCMP and I always thought the MP was Military Police not "Mounted Police" go figure. He sold most of his collection before he died but thought it was important to leave this one for me. (he left a gold RCMP 30-30 lever action for my sister) It also has a MP stamped accessory sight contraption with a button-like peep and two mags. Was always interested if it was rare or valuable? I know this Thread is old but am interested in the rifle and there does not seem to be much info on it.

If you want to drop me the serial number by PM I can check it out for you. I also have an additional 80 to 90 serial numbers of RCMP No.4's that are not in the book.
