Original finish on bayonets
What does the original finish on the Indian pattern 1907 bayonet? Is it flat steel or darker like the ones pictured here?

Thats the correct finish AFAIK, all the ones I,ve seen are similar finish.....

Agree with bigduke6. All of the short Indian bayonets I've seen have a blued blade. However, in Skennerton
's book there is one photo of a No.1 Mk.II (short, no fuller, round pommel) with a bright blade. The one in in the above photo is not a Pattern 1907 but a No.1 Mk.III as best I can tell.
