Anyone recognize this stock marking?
This is on my 1917 Erfurt 98az. Do any of you guys know what this designates? Reichsbahn? Postal? Police? Thanks for having a look!

I've seen completely different markings for Third Reich period rifles, so I'm thinking this is probably Weimar.

Is that a 'D R' over a wreath?

Yes, it is. I probably should have flipped the pic.

Yes, it's the emblem of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. DR over a winged wheel (not a wreath)
See Wacker & Görtz "Handbuch Deutscher Waffenstempel", P310, bottom row, center, on a Walther M/4 pistol.

Just curious. As we don't see this type of 'brand' into the wood very often on Imperial German
guns (most often seen with stamps into the metal, unit marks, police, etc), would this be a Weimar period brand into the stock wood?

I believe this is the case. As I understand it, the Reichsbahn was established about 1920. By the time of the Third Reich, the stock brand had changed in style, so it should fit into the Weimar period.
