    Odd IBM stock marking

Anyone seen a sling well stamp like this before. Ive only seen the SC-B, never S&C like this one. The stock is a type 2 highwood on what appears to be an original 3.72 IBM. Pics of the rest of the gun to follow. The Buttplate fit is poor, but there do not seem to be any modifications to the stock.

Ask Bill Ricca if he has any info on Sprague and Carleton having a replacement stock contract.

This might be a very early Sprague and Carleton stock from when IBM first started using birch instead of walnut as it's on a type 2 stock. I don't think it's a replacement type stock as the acceptance stamp is right where it would normally be for IBM. Just a guess on my part.

I got one of those yesterday from Dupage's 5 for 25 bucks deal. I thought it was walnut until i started repairing the cracks and refinishing it.
