Seeking J Sweets, plus a 303 site 4U
I see Badger's comments about how James Sweet's book on Competitive Rifle Shooting is no longer available for download, where would I find a download or the book these days? Its not really Ebay or Amazon material, I did bump into the following great website for enfielders where they have also mentioned reprints of the book but so far not got back to me...

Alan and Badger- I'd suggest you don't post it in the resource section. The family of Mr Sweet is now re-producing his book for commercial sale and have current copyright. Would I be correct in assuming you got your pdf copy from Mr Horton's manuals? Well, the Sweet family contacted him and asked that he take down the file he had set up as free download, so doing it again here probably wouldn't be looked apon kindly.
The website (link above) for the QRA resource shop isn't exactly manned 24 hours a day. Be patient, they should get back to you.... or send them a reminder. They do stock the book.

Before posting it I would suggest you check it out with Ed Horton who originally posted it on one of the forums; I think it was withdrawn because it infringed copy right.
Edited to add Son beat me to it!!

lol, too too funny...
Interesting story and possible angles on it, I wonder what the situation is now seeing as the QRA website says they have reprints of the book for sale, it makes me think the daughter might have them under way after all, but then it would be odd that only the QRA have them and not the whole wide world.
Thanks Strangely Brown, I'll follow that link, it'd be nice to have an original; in any case if the QRA email me back I'll post any update here for one and all...
and thanks for the offer Alan, I just might email you about that too.

Hah! Yet another statement with no basis in actual fact. I have it on very good authority, from one of your fellow American servicemen, that you aren't any good at all with a Lee Enfield. In fact, here's the proof!

The truth in this matter is this started a few years ago when Steve Redgwell complained and threatened legal action at two websites if I did not remove the Canadian manuals from my manual stickies. I wrote to the Canadian Government and Canada
does not copyright these manuals as evidenced by the downloads at Badgers website.
On top of this all copyright laws must be reciprocal between two countries and the U.S. does not copyright military manuals, the U.S. Constitution starts off “We the people” meaning that what belongs to the government belongs to the people.
I received more hate email from people about losing money on the Enfield manuals they were “selling” and hate mail about losing money on selling copies of Sweets and Reynolds books online than you can imagine. And Badger got these books from me in Adobe .pdf format and it would be nice to see what correspondence Badger has received to clear this up on the Sweets book.
If this wasn’t bad enough other people complained about the manuals and books to the websites and their only possible reason for this was they did want any competition when it came to handing out answers in the forums about Enfield Rifles
.
The shame of it all is I have the manuals and books, I have read them all, I would like to hand them out to help Enfield owners and people are trying to stop me for their own personal gain or greed.
I have thousands of pages of information that need to be convert to .pdf format but the harassment and flak I’m getting makes it not worth it anymore, Vic at Gunboards is accusing me of “selling copyrighted material” because of these back stabbing people.
