The Mount and pads drawing does provide the location dimensions of the pad centre line.
Front face of action to centre of front pad is 1.5inches, then front pad to rear pad centre line is then 3.6inches.
These identical dimensions appear on 4 different and revised mount drawings, from 1940 to 1970.

A post-war drawing apparently.
Interesting that the collimation tolerance is 5 MOA!
Anyone know what "C.P.C. Treatment 600" is?

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928

C.P.C is a UK
manufacturer of chemicals, protective coatings paints and oils (WD40 type stuff)
No idea what their '600' product may have been but their product range would fit into the notation :
"Phosphate finish 1/1 Finished with Black (spirit) stain and C.P.C. Treatment 600"
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

The No32 bracket drawing was the 1970 version, amended 7 times from original.

Also the wartime trials no53 mount drawing dated 1944 has the same pad placement.
