I don't know if I have clips around for it here or not. I'll have to dig around. Seems I may have a set or two somewhere. What would you recommend on the holster?

Use a toothpick and pick the verdigris from around the brass fittings but I think you know that already. The lift the dot and bottom snap are likely dry but when you oil the leather they should get some lube too and then they don't stick and break. I did a couple pieces a month ago using wood wax wiped on and removed. It softens and preserves. I used to use dubbin or sno seal like I used for my boots...
I'm sure you'll get the phone book on this shortly, everyone telling everyone else how wrong they are. That's usually how this goes.

I learned a lot about M1
helmets today. The liner is a 1965 Firestone. The liner band is 1982. The liner was made 21 June 1965.

Now THAT makes a lot more sense to me. I grew up wearing those and even then could tell things weren't the same. That liner looked WAY older that '80s, we had lots of those show up at the end of the M1
helmet. The mulit colored liner strips showed an older liner. The "80s liners were uniform color and greenish. Firestone is a nice catch, the little "F" stylized...

They are all telling me to leave it alone other than get an appropriate headband for it. Legit early Vietnam helmet. I’ll keep my eyes open for a cover and elastic band for it. I put that headband on a 1980’s helmet and liner I have that was missing it.
