Model 1911A1 pistol shoulder holster

I have owned this shoulder holster for quite awhile now, never had a need to use it. it
does show some light service wear. It is marked BOYT but without a date.

My question: could this holster be an early reproduction or is it original ?

It looks good to me but I can't presently compare the letter width with a known original. There are lots of un dated examples though. The font differs through time. If you have access to a blacklight, check the thread in the stitching under the blacklight. If the thread fluoresces under the blacklight, it is new, but if the thread remains dull it is most likely original.

A lot of the WWII holsters were undated. Somewhere I have one myself. Only it's an Enger-Kress.

Have an Enger-Kress as well, it is dated 1944.

I believe originals are expensive now, anywhere from $150 US to over $200 US. Not really found in infantry units (unless purchased or requisitioned) but used by tank crews.

Mine somehow made it back to the States in a duffel bag. The Old Man was a B 17 Radio operator/ waist gunner.

I have an undated Boyt that I picked up at a surplus store in the early 80's. It's still in beautiful condition. As far as I've seen these come in multiple flavors, 1911, Victory and M1917. Mine is for a 1911.

I've had multiples for the Victory and 1911 buy never the big "N" frame.
