I have been picking up spare parts here and there for M1917s for the last couple years so I would be able to keep the four that I have functioning in the future. I picked up a Remington stock for $65, Criterion barrel from CMP(Installed courtesy of our favorite man from Denver) and the rest of the parts on Ebay, Gunbroker and Auction Arms when I could get a good deal. About a month ago, I saw a stripped Remington receiver for sale cheap on another board and I realized that I had enough parts to build a rifle. This is the result, my M1917 "parts" rifle.
Three of my other M1917s are all correct, one from each manufacture and the other is nickel plated so I thought I would do something different with this one and put a scope on it. The scope is one I had laying around; I am planning on replacing it with something more period correct when I can. The bad news is that now I need to look for more spare parts.
