I happened to end up with some small primer 45 brass and decided to load up some. I shot a few and picked up the cases to check for anything out of the ordinary. I was surprised to see sooty primers and case heads on 2 of 5 rds. The load which was used before( 4.2 gr. bullseye with a 230 gr. cast, and small pistol primer) with lg. primer cases is light. Had no problems with the large primer loads so I thought that this would have been OK too. The small pri. cases weigh the same within a couple grains.of the lg. pri. ones. Checked powder from a disassembled round and found charge correct. Except for primes size all is the same. The brass was Blazer once fired and the primers were not loose going in. Any comments or suggestions? Otherwise may just abandon this idea. GeorgeInformation
