My goal is to use a standard Persian Mauser 98, with a 29" barrel in excellent condition to hit the target at 1000 yards. The stock was relieved and bedded and using a Zeiss scope. I do know that I might need a 20 moa base, but given that I am using a Repro german WW2 LRS mount, I am stuck, unless I build a special 20MOA adapter for the scope base.

I am not expecting benchrest accuracy. I am Holding 1 moa at 100 yrds will translate to 10" at 1k. However, as long as I can hit the 10 ring which is about 20" diameter, I am happy.

I am handloading using sierra matchking 200gr HPBT, 42.3gr IMR 4064. So the questions are:

1) Do i need to develop different loads as I move up to 600 and 1k yards?

2) Does anybody have experience at 1k yards with 8mm SMK 200gr? powder charge? or any other load?
Thank you in adavnce for all the replies
