I just looked up Elmer Keith at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmer_Keith it was interesting so I thought I’d share a little known story.
Elmer Keith was an inspector at the Ogden Army arsenal here in Ogden, Utah. He was an avid handgun hunter and developed the .357 magnum as well as most of the other magnum handguns. The rifles that he inspected were stamped with the initials "OGEK" in a rectangular box, on the buttstock. Rifles stamped OGEK without a rectangular box were inspected by Ed Klouser at the same Ogden Arsenal.
