Critique my scoped Garand

Hey Guys,

I bought a CMP upper rear hand guard and mounted a scope on my Garand. I'm new to Garands and new to scopes, so not sure I got the right stuff. I ordered a Burris 2.75X scope based on a recommendation on the CMP forum. The rings I bought interfere with the iron sights, so I guess that one I got wrong off the bat.

I would appreciate advice on what to do as far as making this a better shooter with a scope. I can already see the long eye relief could be an issue. I just got it assembled tonight and have not had a chance to shoot it yet.
