the repro mounts sold today for 30.00 is made in China, made of crap steel, wrong thread pitch screws, and doesnt fit the rifle...
you get what you pay for...
they are so bad, i stopped installing them 5 years ago.
not sure were you got that info from. but its incorrect.
the only military issued scope bases ever installed on the 1903A4 snipers rifle are Redfield and Lyman one piece bases,
that are parkerized finish, and use a 8/40 2 screw mounting system,
why would anyone pay over 400.00?
well, a 1903A4 snipers rifle has little sales appeal without the correct base....
since most A4s were sold with no scope, and some with the base removed...they are in hot demand..
