    Matter of fact, I had a type 99 bayonet here that wasn't bad but had no grip scales. I roughed them out of walnut (I don't think they ever did) and used screw rod to hold them on. Then cleaned them down by hand until they were correct looking...ended up being a decent job. Owner was very happy...
