Hello,
I've had this rifle for a few years, but don't really know much about it. Purchased from the CMPicon store in Alabama as a Field-Grade I picked off the racks. Don't expect that much is original to the rifle, but that doesn't really bother me. I enjoy it as is and appreciate the historical significance. One thing I am curious about is that I was told by the CMP employee that it has a Winchester stock, but I don't know how to confirm this. I'm not an expert and I don't pretend to be!

What ammo is preferred for shooting a Garandicon? I understand there are legitimate concerns about the operating-rod and hotter loads? I would like to shoot original load style rounds, can anyone recommend a brand?

Here's a few pictures... if anyone could provide some insight into how this rifle breaks down I would greatly appreciate it
